How It’s NOT Made - Rooted in Endurance

Built for the Wild: The "How It's Not Made" Philosophy

Most jewelry is designed for the jewelry box. It’s made with thin prongs, hollow stems, and fragile settings that ask you to pause. They tell you to take off your ring before you mount your horse, or to leave your necklace behind before you hit the trailhead.

We don’t believe in pausing.

How It’s Not Made

At DV Jewelry Designs, we’ve spent 20 years perfecting a process that the traditional industry won't touch. We don't "set" stones in fragile cages. We cast them in place. We sculpt 14k gold and sterling silver directly around the raw, organic edges of diamonds and gemstones, mimicking the way ancient roots grip the earth.

"Because your life shouldn't have to pause for your jewelry."

For the Climber & Hiker

You know the sound of granite against a ring. In a traditional setting, that’s the sound of a stone falling out. In a DV piece, it’s just another day on the mountain. Our organic twig and root designs are low-profile and solid, built to handle the grit of the trail and the pressure of the rock.

For the Equestrian

A lead rope or a heavy rein can bend a standard ring in seconds. Our "How It’s Not Made" approach ensures that your jewelry is as rugged as the spirit of the ride. No snags, no warping—just art that stays as strong as the bond with your horse.

The Endurance Standard

"Forged in the fire and anchored in gold, our designs are built to stay where they belong—on your hand, through every summit and every stride."

We are thrilled to unveil the newest one-of-a-kind creation from DV Jewelry. Designed as the perfect companion to our beloved twig pendant, this ring is a true testament to organic beauty.

The design that started it all: Our signature oxidized silver twig pendant, the perfect companion to the new ring.

Handcrafted in sterling silver with a rustic oxidized finish, the branch-like setting is cast directly around a stunning 1.8ct rough diamond. This unique "cast-in-place" technique ensures that the stone is securely cradled by the metal, making each ring truly unique.

Sterling Silver One-of-a-kind 5 carat Rough Diamond Design by Dawn

The wax model has been completed; next step is casting the model in Sterling Silver.

Modeling the matching Twig Band in jeweler's wax. There will be a Twig version as well as a Leaf & Twig Version.

Starting on a new Sterling Silver, One-of-a-kind design based on my new 2 prong design.  My daughter, my awesome business partner has requested this design to be made with two options for the second band.

A complimentary matching leaf band as well as a matching twig band. So in the next two weeks, I'll sculpt in wax a matching leaf band as well as a twig band...it's gonna be fun because I love what I do.

4.5 ct (shown) Hand Cut Ruby in 14k Gold Leaf and Twig setting

I have waited exactly two years staring at my faceting tools until now. Creating our own hand cut gemstones is a milestone for me, it's like everything I envisioned for my hand sculpted designs has finally come full circle. I truly hope you see my vision in giving you a true one-of-a-kind ring.

Engagement Rings
Leaf and Twig Ruby Ring
Each design was created in wax to mimic little twigs with tiny branches holding a artistically hand cut in our studio.

Our Refined Gold and Gemstones are all Cruelty-Free.

Why have I chosen to hand cut our Gemstones:

Gemstone material that has not been extensively cut and polished is referred to as "Rough".

Rough material that has been hammered to knocked off the brittle fractured edges is said to have been cobbled.

So, what I have chosen to do is remove the brittle fractures by hand polishing our rough gemstones in our studio here in North Carolina and allowing a longer lifespan of the stone for our customers. A stone that has been hand cut is a stronger stone and in my opinion a safer stone to have.

To keep the integrity of the rough gemstones, we only remove the brittle edges and keep true to the unique shape of the original rough gemstone. This way we can create a beautiful artistically cut gemstone that is still Cruelty-Free but very unique in shape.

This is my way of giving you a true one-of-a-kind hand sculpted and hand cut ring.

Your ring will come with a black velvet pouch and a black ring box.

I'm Going Tropical! Philodendrons, Banana Leaves, Hibiscus...

You would think because I'm heading to my next show at the Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens in Stuart next month that this is where I had the idea about going tropical, it would have made perfect sense but noooo...we were in the Keys at our show and while staying at the hotel in Florida City they had beautiful tropical gardens around the pool and I looked down at a cluster of tropical plants growing together...there were banana leaves, palms, hibiscus, philodendrons and I said...this is my next projects!

My head was spinning but it was Don who suggested making a slider with a single Philodendron leaf first so this morning I made the larger leaf for an Omega Chain or a set of pearls using an enhancer and then I made a smaller one as a slider for a Hematite Choker.
The little leaves are 7/8" and 1 1/8" tall and will be cast in sterling silver first and then possibly 14kt next.
I plan to make a ring out of the smaller leaf which will wrap around the finger...I've curled the leaf around my finger and it was just perfect. My husband said I nailed the design beautifully!
