| Lionfish in Wax |
When I sculpt in wax...it doesn't matter if I sculpt an Orchid 3mm wide or a Grizzly Bear 9 feet tall...it's all sculpting to me, but this year I tossed out my "Bucket List Idea" of sculpting a Lionfish to Wyland Galleries and to my surprise...they gave me the GO AHEAD! But they told me that if I was going to sculpt this handsome fella...it had to be life size, so 7 months into the project, this is where I'm at...
Measurements:
18" long
17" tall
Base Consist of Finger Coral, Plate Coral and Cabbage Coral
Shell Molds: Approx. 8-9
Once I complete the wax (about 1 more months to fine tune) we will cut the Lionfish into 8 pieces, making a shell casting for each piece. Once cast, we will solder the pieces back together, then the polishing begins and then the finished piece will have a special patina added.
This process will take approximately 2-3 months to finish the Lionfish.
This will be a Limited Edition of only 125
Please note, the total cost will be $18,000.00
A 50% deposit is required and the remaining 50% is due upon completion.
Each Bronze Sculpture will be photographed, signed by me in the casting and then signed again by me once completed.
