Lionfish Bronze Sculpture

"Lionel"

If anyone out there knows of someone who wants to invest in my Bronze Lionfish Sculpture...if so, please e-mail using the Request Form to the right. I'm looking for about $10,000.00 (quoted from foundry) to cast, make a master, mold, polish & patina plus the investor would also get one of the bronze sculptures. I did have one lady in Virginia who wanted to purchase the wax but there is a year of work in this guy and I just couldn't let it go.

Hey, just thought I would throw it out there. He's about 1 month of work before he's completed.
Thanks for your help!

Retail Cost: $19,000

Ghost Orchid Bronze Sculpture

Ghost Orchid
Bronze Sculpture

The Ghost Orchid aka: Dendrophylax lindenii

The Ghost Orchid intrigues me the most. Books & Blogs have been developed, several novels have been written about it and a Movie, Adaptation with Nicolas Cage & Meryl Streep was based on the book, The Orchid Thief...there is just a lot going on with this particular orchid.

It is perhaps the most revered orchid in the United States, if not the world and It is one of the rarest orchids found only in South Florida, Cuba, and Haiti, most likely existing on other nearby Caribbean islands in addition and I am proud to say, I had the pleasure of seeing this leafless orchid in person!

A great blog for additional information on the Ghost Orchid: http://www.ghostorchid.info/

I sculpted this bronze sculpture in wax, exactly like my jewelry I make and then we cast in piece in Bronze. I added a high polish finish to the front of the flower and a stain finish to the back.

To purchase this piece, go to:

May 11th Lionfish Update

...still tweaking.
I'm still about half finished but here is my latest Pics...
For my base (also not finished) I have started sculpting my Finger & Cabbage Corals which will sit on black granite.
Sooo much work to do...a lot of smoothing out, filling in and tweaking.
